& CoThe spiritual path leads in to the depths of ones own being, but this path of life is rarely successfully walked soulo. I am shown constantly what I cannot see for myself through my Teachers, Family, Students, Friends and Strangers. My teachers are primarily today Yoga Master Kriya Yogananda for absolute spiritual guidance, the written darshan of Bri Maya Tiwari regarding Ayurvedas and Vedanta, and the artistic genius behind Yogamonks Yoga method Jonathan Monks. Another incredibly important channel of wisdom that I study with daily in connection with my spiritual sister Mezada devoted to the way of the Kabbalist, are the teachers at www.ukabbalah.com. The teachings of the Buddhas have been a constant presence all my life. These sources are the foundation of my path and without whom my daily sadhanas would be lacking. A great deal of what I learn from practicing these teachings I share to the best of my present ability in my classes with the intention that you will be spurred to find your path, your practice and your happiness within. Other important influences in my life are study of Taiji with teachers Caroline Ross, Master Mark Raudva and Anna Dahlman, dance movement and rhythm syncopation with Malin Zaki, Dollie Henry, MDC and the important lessons of relationship with my family and friends. So many teachers have paved the way to where I am today and you will find more information in my formal bio/CV. For where I practice, play and pause visit the urban warriors lined up in Light Links. For more info on my primary teachers today, please read on.
KriyajiKriyaji, I only met you recently and I still have not fully understood to express how valuable your blessings are in my Life. To be in Your presence, to know of You, to see that it can be done! is such fulfilling experience for a heart like mine that so desires to be in Truth but so often has doubts and fears. Those who are interested in studying with this Master should visit www.kriyaji.com for further information. Though I practice to the best of my ability what I learn with Kriyaji I am not teaching any of these practices. Indirectly however all my work is infused with the lineage of teachers who I am so blessed to study with, and perhaps above all my love and appreciation for having such a Teacher in my life. YogamonksWhen I first saw you move into asanas on that stage in the crowded gymnastic hall in Gothenburg teaching us a vinyasa I no longer recall, I was smiling all over myself. I knew that I wanted that movement to be my movement. I knew I wanted to be able to take others there, to that same connection and clarity I was feeling from the guidance you effortlessly spoke out whilst twisting and turning in all directions so gracefully. Despite being elated at finally having FOUND a yoga asana method that sang to me, it took me another year to take courage to make room in my life for the dedication to practice and to ask you if you would take me on as a student. I could not even imagine then that it would lead to such personal growth and change, such shared friendship and passion for practice, and to Kriyaji. Thank you.
So graceful, poetic and utterly beautiful movement of vinyasa designed by a wizard of this art. The asana method that Jonathan shares with the world is his unique gift, channeled through a remarkable self practice discipline. Read more to study with him and his partner Beth Monks on www.yogamonks.com. Read more about the Method here. Bri Maya TiwariWe have never met Mother Maya, except through your words. Words that often move me to tears, so deeply I feel the beauty of your experience and understanding of the Vedas, so truthfully it ripples in my veins. Thank you.
U-kabbalahMezada, your journey in the way of the Kabbalist has revealed so much Light in my life. Thank you Sister for your efforts, for keeping me on my path daily, and your sharing of the login to www.ukabbalah.com until I had the wisdom to see that I need to pay for my own connection. MithilaI am a dancer of grace and beauty, I am creativity and creation is manifested in my unique gift, I have purpose and in finding that purpose I have ultimate fulfillment, at the tip of my fingers, all Divine, all part of One. Without me the world is not the same, without the world I have no expression in this form. Whatever I find, may I never forget that there is only truly Light.
I have been moved all my Life to ask Why? Grand questions of Spirit such as Why are we here, Why the Universe?, Why Earth?, Why human condition and suffering? These have been accompanied with more petty complaints when things have not gone the way 'I Planned' like Why Me? Why is this happening? Why not? The movement of spirit and the existence of something other than meets the eye has always made sense to me and to convey that vision with joy is my gift and I am happy to be of service in sharing this vision with you. With deLight as the guide life becomes a smooth flow of challenges, growing in tune with the Universe. It is an active choice to change myself. This daily choosing of Flow is to me Sadhana, the daily spiritual study and practice. The time committed to it I find is returned, multiplied, in energy, serendipity and awe.
Why oh why?All my why’s (the questions asked in Light) and all my why-nings (the ones asked in Darkness) have moved my Spirit to find answers in the teachings of the Buddha, the teachings of the Yogis from the Vedas and now also recently to the wisdom of Kabbalah and Shamans. Fortunately for me I did find answers, and uncomfortably they had me change my ordinary way of life. Fortunately for me these practices mean that I am today happier for no reason, despite the challenges of dedicating myself to this work and lifestyle. I am, like you, on a journey of life and I can only invite you to share the blessings I have received in taking steps to be closer to Universal truths. If you accept the invitation then I must share with you that I am very grateful that I was guided to the teachers who’s life work form the content of my daily practices. These tools are my Sadhana, practices that are moving me towards greater and greater freedom of simply being. You will meet them in these pages. More about my take on Yoga as a spiritual practice.
